Police arrest alleged Walmart shoplifter

JASPER — The Jasper Police Department took a man into custody Saturday evening for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart Supercenter, 4040 Newton St.
Kenneth Phillips, 40, Bloomfield, allegedly fled the scene in his vehicle but was later located nearby due to provided descriptions.
Phillips was arrested and preliminarily charged with Class A misdemeanor theft for the theft of $743.72 in merchandise, as well as Level 6 felony theft with a prior and driving while suspended with a prior.
He was transported and lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
