From Local Sources

HUNTINGBURG — Indiana State Police arrested a Huntingburg-area man Saturday night and accused him of multiple offenses after a traffic stop.

Byers

A trooper stopped a 2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer driven by Jason K. Byers, 32, 5569 S. 750W, for traveling 79 mph in the 55 mph zone on State Road 64 west of County Road 585W at 9:48 p.m.

Police who determined Byers was driving while classified as a habitual traffic violator indicated he refused intoxication testing even after a warrant was obtained for a sample.

Authorities booked Byers into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:33 p.m. on preliminary charges that included Level 6 felony counts of obstruction of justice and driving while classified as a habitual traffic violator and misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated (test refusal) and resisting law enforcement.
