Pipe work to affect State Road 64 in Pike CountyAugust 22, 2018
From local sources
AUGUSTA — Pipe replacement work will close State Road 64 in Pike County for a day next week.
The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to close State Road 64 near the State Road 257 intersection for a pipe replacement on or around Tuesday. Work is expected to last about a day, depending on weather conditions.
Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure, but all other traffic should use the state’s detour of State Road 257 and State Road 56.
Once the project is complete, INDOT advises, motorists will notice rough pavement for a short time. That is to allow fill material to compact under traffic conditions before crews come back with asphalt.
In announcing the work, INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
