April 9, 2020From Local Sources
BIRDSEYE — The Indiana Department of Transportation announces multiple culvert pipe replacements on State Road 145 in both Perry and Dubois counties.
Beginning on or around Monday, April 20, crews will begin working on State Road 145 from Interstate 64 to the junction of State Road 64 near Birdseye. Workers will be replacing multiple drainage culverts along this stretch, one at a time. This operation requires a full width pavement cut while they excavate and replace the pipe. Work on each culvert is expected to be complete within a few hours and work at each location has been scheduled around morning and afternoon peak hours.
Work on State Road 145 is expected to take about 10 days, depending upon weather conditions. Local traffic will have access up to the points of closure during the operations, however, all through traffic will need to use the official detour following I-64, State Road 37, State Road 64 and State Road 145.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
