HUNTINGBURG — Police arrested a Pike County man after responding to a report of an altercation taking place Thursday evening in Huntingburg.
The Huntingburg Police Department was notified at 7:45 p.m. of an altercation between a male and a female in a vehicle in the area of Sixth and Main streets. The male was reported to have choked a female, according to the complainant.
Officers who responded noted visible injury to a female as well as the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Police reported locating marijuana in the vehicle.
After investigating, police arrested Bryce M. Welborn, 26, Petersburg.
Authorities booked Welborn into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:31 p.m. on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony domestic battery in the presence of a child and strangulation, plus misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
