Pickups collide at gas pumps
June 12, 2020From Local Sources
IRELAND — Limited damage resulted when one pickup truck struck another Monday afternoon at the Spud’s Food Mart gas pumps.
Yvonne D. East, 77, Jasper, was fueling a 2007 Mitsubishi Raider at the 4953 E. State Road 56 location at the time of the 5:10 p.m. mishap, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
After fueling, East drove her truck, which had been facing north, around the pumps in order to exit the lot. A deputy said East’s truck struck a traffic cone in the lot. She over-corrected her steering, which caused the rear passenger side of her vehicle to sideswipe the rear passenger-side bumper area of a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Trevor Weisman of Jasper.
Damage was estimated to be less than $1,000.
