JASPER — Both drivers were injured in a pickup truck-versus-SUV collision Wednesday on Jasper’s south side.
Kayla M. Dooley, 36, Jasper, was southbound on Third Avenue in a 2017 Dodge Durango when the 5:23 p.m. accident occurred at Gun Club Road, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Dooley stopped to turn onto Gun Club Road and was waiting for traffic to clear when her Durango was rear-ended by a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Taylor D. Cox, 27, Hawesville, Kentucky, according to police.
Authorities said Cox suffered a head injury and Dooley complained of leg and arm pain. Both were treated and released, according to a Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center spokeswoman.
Damage was estimated at $20,000 to the Dooley Dodge and $10,000 to the Cox Chevrolet.
An officer cited Cox for following too closely.
