Persohn receives IBCA honor

Jasper boys basketball player Justin Persohn was announced as one of 16 boys basketball players selected to receive the Marion Crawley Award, a grant of $750 in the name of former Washington and Lafayette Jefferson head coach Marion Crawley. The award was presented by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

Criteria for the award included achievement in basketball, achievement in academics, partcipation in extracurricular activities and service to one’s school and community.

Persohn finished his senior year for the Cats averaging 8.3 points per game, 2.3 assists per game and 2.2 rebounds per game. Persohn also had success as Jasper football’s starting quarterback and as one of the Wildcat starting pitchers on the baseball team.
