JASPER — The Dubois County Art Guild artwork at the Jasper City Mill in Jasper has been changed. Professional artist Emily Colucci Peak of Jasper, curator of the Krempp Gallery and visual arts coordinator at the Jasper Arts Center, will be the featured artist.

Art has been a part of Peak’s everyday life from a young age. Growing up with an artist father and art supportive family, there was never a question whether or not she would pursue the arts as a career. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, and the Florence (Italy) University of the Arts, with a major in studio art and a minor in art history.

She works in many mediums, including sculpture, metal, ceramics, printmaking and painting.

Peak’s award-winning work has been shown in galleries throughout Indiana and in Florence, Italy.

The featured artist at the DCAG Gallery Walk exhibit changes every six months. The public is invited to a reception at the Jasper City Mill from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday to mark the opening of the new exhibit. Laux will discuss her artwork at the reception and give an artist’s demonstration at a later date.

The Dubois County Art Guild, which promotes the appreciation of art in the Dubois County communities, also have artwork on display and for sale at the mill. Mediums features include oil, watercolor, drawing, acrylic, photography, print and 3D wall pieces.  The guild meets at 6 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the Jasper Arts Center.

In addition, rustic Amish furniture in available at the mill.
