Do you have a lot of scores to catch up on, but not a lot of time to do it? Never fear, for we have the recaps from all of Dubois County's prep action from last night (and some stuff from Wednesday, too).
Heritage Hills 3, North Posey 0: The Patriots traveled to Poseyville and made swift work of the Vikings to earn their third win in their last four matches.
Shelby Skelton led the attack with 19 kills and had an additional 10 digs. Hannah Schnuck paced the Pats with 22 digs, while Hannah Marchand contributed 25 assists to the win.
Northeast Dubois 3, North Daviess 0: The Jeeps employed the full effect of their brooms as they swept the Cougars last night at home.
Taylor Dodd had 16 kills, and Chloe Terwiske finished with 34 assists. Hadley Fuhrman did a bit of everything for the Jeeps as she collected six kills, five digs, and two aces.
Springs Valley 3, Southridge 0: The Raiders couldn't find their rhythm in French Lick as they fell to the Blackhawks in three sets for their third loss in their last five matches.
Myah Montgomery led Southridge with five kills. Maddie Songer and Savanah Goeppner each had four assists. Rose Tempel paced the defense with nine digs.
Prep Girls Soccer
Forest Park 9, Southridge 0: The Rangers enjoyed an offensive explosion and the Raiders which boosted them to their first win of the season.
Forest Park scored five times in the first half then added another four in the next 40 minutes.
Emma Grundhoefer led the charge with three goals, while Leah Dilger and Denai Sicard each had two assists in the victory.
Corydon Central 9, Northeast Dubois 4: The Jeeps battled back from a 3-1 hole to tie the game at 4-all in the second half, but they just couldn't keep up with the overwhelming offensive force from the Panthers.
Lexi Freyberger had two goals, while Aubrey Hostetter and Taylor Neukam finished with one score each.
Prep Boys Soccer
Forest Park 5, Southridge 0: The Rangers halted a two-game skid by blanking the Raiders in a Thursday night conference showdown.
JD Kerber and Tyler Berger both had two goals. Conner Knies finished with two assists.
Castle 179, Jasper 207: Three of Castles top four golfers placed ahead of the Lady Wildcats’ top score in a dual match win on Wednesday at Rolling Hills Country Club.
Elizabeth Ackerman and Avery Bartley paced Jasper with a pair of 50’s.
Halle Knies and Anna Schmitt rounded out the Lady Wildcats scoring with 53 and 54, respectively.
Castle’s Carly Frazier finished as the meet medalist with a score of 2-over-par 38.
Heritage Hills 224, South Spencer 246: Grace Mangan shot a 50 to medal at Christmas Lake and Jayden Reyes had a 54 as Heritage Hills defeated South Spencer on the links.
Both Sarah Mangan and Taylor Klem shot 60, while Katelyn Davis finished with a 63.
Reagan Lawrence led South Spencer with a 60.
Forest Park 255, Pike Central 226: The Rangers shot a round with the Chargers at Sutlan's Run Thursday, and while they swung their clubs to the best of their ability they surrendered the outing to Pike Central.
Kelsie Jacob finished with a 60 to lead Forest Park. Pike Central's Hadley Holder medaled with a 52.
Loogootee 4, Northeast Dubois 1: Reece Bauer picked up the only win of the match for the Jeeps on Wednesday.
Bauer knocked off Jordan Wildman on the No. 1 singles court, 6-4, 6-4.
On the No. 2 doubles court, Tucker Neukam and Logan Lampert pushed their Lions’ opponents to a third set before falling, 6-1, 1-6, 6-0.
The loss drops Northeast Dubois to 6-3 on the season.
Heritage Hills 4, Southridge 1:Heritage Hills and Southridge met in Huntingburg for a conference showdown, and when the dust settled it was the Pats' racquets which were raised in victory.
No. 1 Josh Dellamuth (6-1, 6-0) and No. 2 JT Smallwood (6-0, 6-0) cruised in their respective singles matches, while No. 3 singles Kayden Bell (6-4, 4-6, 6-3) and the No. 2 duo Josh and Jacob Smith (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) took their matches to three sets.
Ethan Bell and Sam Sermersheim (6-4, 6-4) were the lone win for Southridge at No.1 doubles.
Prep Cross Country
The Runners from Dubois County put on strong performances across the board at the North Harrison Cougar Classic. Both the Jasper boys and girls team claimed the top spot, but the Northeast Dubois and Southridge girls also took home top ten finishes.
Jasper's Jackson Miller finished second overall for the boys with a course time of 16:31. Wildcat runners Abe Eckman (16:47) and Drew O'Neil (17:06) finished fourth and eighth overall respectively. Pierce Brinkman (16:44) did the Jeeps proud with a third place finish and , Southridge's Dylan Bland (16:56) took the fifth spot.
On the girls side Jasper's Andi VanMeter took the top spot with a run time of 19:47. Fellow Wildcats Kelsea Skorge (21:44) and Kathryn McCoy (22:01) finished seventh and eighth overall. Jordan Schweikarth took second place for Northeast Dubois with a final time of 20:48. Jeeps runners Sarah (21:34) and Shelby Livingston (22:08) finished in fifth and ninth place.
