Patriots can't cling to late leadSeptember 22, 2012
From Herald Staff Reports
The Heritage Hills football team allowed a late touchdown Friday, another hit to the Patriots in a season that’s included more losses than the program is used to experiencing.
The Patriots traveled to Gibson Southern and returned with a 14-10 loss after David Anguish scored on a 10-yard run with 3:06 remaining in the game.
That score followed a 25-yard touchdown throw from Logan Wilkerson to Spenser Minto late in the third quarter.
Heritage Hills (2-4, 2-2 Pocket Athletic Conference) will face Southridge (4-2, 3-1) next Friday in a clash of local rivals at Huntingburg.
Jeeps 2, Spartans 0: Jacob Gress scored twice in the second half, both times off an assist from Joe Gress, and Northeast Dubois won at South Knox.
The Jeeps (8-2, 5-1 Blue Chip Conference) have won seven consecutive matches.
