Patriot trio invited to IBCA workoutJune 17, 2019
From Herald Staff Reports
The Heritage Hills’ trio of Murray Becher, Simon Scherry and Blake Sisley will be participating in the 17th annual IBCA/IHSAA Underclass Showcase at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.
This event is designed to give exposure to approximately 240 of the top basketball prospects in the state of Indiana (120 boys, 117 girls).
The boys’ showcase will be on Saturday, June 22 with activity beginning at 2 p.m. through approximately 7:45 p.m.
Becher is coming off of an extremely impressive junior season that saw him join the Patriots’ 1,000-point scoring club. He averaged 20.4 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists per game.
He also recently represented the state of Indiana as a junior All-Star in the Indiana-Kentucky basketball series.
Scherry averaged 15.6 points per game, 5.1 assists per game and 3.0 steals per game as a junior last season for the Patriots. He shot a team-best 52 percent from three-point.
He recently committed to playing baseball at the University of Evansville as he’s been a multisport star for Heritage Hills.
As a sophomore, Sisley continued to improve his game as he averaged 12.8 points per game along with 7.6 rebounds per game and 0.8 blocks per game. He also led the Pats’ with seven double-doubles this past year.
He’s already received an offer from Walter McCarty and the Evansville Aces and also has plenty of other Division I interest as well.
Other athletes from southern Indiana participating in the boys’ workout include Brayton Bailey (Bedford North Lawrence), Silaus Bauer (Loogootee), Brett Bosley (Paoli), Ty’Ran Funches (Evansville Bosse), Brycen Graber (Barr-Reeve), Lincoln Hale (Linton), L.T. Hatton (North Harrison), Curt Hopf (Barr-Reeve), Julien Hunter (New Albany), Khristian Lander (Evansville Reitz), Grant Niehaus (Washington), Keegan O’Neill (Barr-Reeve) and Kiyron Powell (Evansville Bosse).
