Patoka Valley Quilt Guild

The November meeting of the Patoka Valley Quilt Guild took place at 7:00 p.m. in the newly remodeled Mobel Room in the Ferdinand Community Center with President Melissa Ruschau presiding. The treasurer’s report was given. It was announced that member Agnes Hochgesang has had a knee replacement and is doing well. Cards may be sent individually.

For the education committee Sherri Hilgeman announced open sewing dates through May.  Remaining dates in 2021 include Nov. 12 through 14 and Dec. 10 through 12. Becky Fuller reported that the December program would be Show and Tell, and the drawing for the snowman challenge quilt will be held then.

In reference to the December meeting, there will be a change in meeting time. Boxed dinners will be served at 6:30 with the meeting to follow. Members must turn in meal reservations by NOVEMBER 14th. Feel free to bring a dessert to share. Contact Kathy Weyer or Joyce Beck for further information.

In additional reporting: 33 members were present. November birthdays were announced.  Several kits were available for the small quilt project. Retreat info and registration sheets for the Feb. 11-13, 2022, Spring Mill Retreat were discussed. Future retreat dates at St. Meinrad are July 19 through 21 and October 25 through 27, 2022. At this meeting members voted to continue participation in Heritage Days at the Dubois County Museum in the Spring.

Show and Tell followed the meeting. The program for the evening was on a machine, quilting small items.  It was presented by Ann Jorden, Jane Heichelbech, and Jane Potter. The next meeting will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. New members are always welcome.
