Parole violator arrested for resisting

HUNTINGBURG — The Huntingburg Police Department accused a Missouri man with resisting law enforcement after encountering him Saturday.

Police answering the 11:43 a.m. report of a disturbance in the 800 block of Shelby Street say a man at the residence, Derek A. Noheart, 25, St. Joseph, Missouri, was wanted on a Missouri parole violation.

Noheart ran out the back door of the residence with two Huntingburg officers pursuing him on foot. Noheart evaded police for a time by entering a wooded area on North Cherry Street but was taken into custody at 1:20 p.m.

Authorities booked Noheart into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:48 p.m. on the out-of-state parole violation and on a preliminary local misdemeanor count of resisting law enforcement
