Parish announces no-show picnic

ST. MEINRAD — The annual St. Meinrad Parish fall picnic will not be held on the church grounds on Sunday, Sept. 20. Instead, parishioners, friends and neighbors are invited to attend this year’s no-show picnic through livestream from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT.

Live music will be available throughout the day, including performances by the Troesch Brothers and The Gatwoods.

The special quilt raffle, featuring handmade quilts from parishioners and local artisans, will begin at 1 p.m. CT followed by an all-cash raffle with $5,000 in prizes. A limited-edition, No-Show picnic T-shirt can be ordered through the website.

Designs are being sought for this year’s shirt. Entries can be sent to or mailed to St. Meinrad Parish, P.O. Box 8, St. Meinrad IN 47577. Entry deadline is July 31. The winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card.

Catered, single-serve barbecue chicken dinners are available for drive-thru pickup from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Dinners include scalloped potatoes, slaw and green beans. Dinners ordered in advance, through Sept. 6, will be $10 each. Price on picnic date is $12 on the picnic date. Presales are available at beginning July 15.

Orders also are being taken for barbecued pork ribs for $25. Advance orders only are available through the parish website. Drive-thru- pickup on picnic day is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Parishioners, friends and neighbors of St. Meinrad Parish are asked to support this annual celebration. Once again, there will be an opportunity to remember and honor loved ones in the picnic honor roll. The picnic honor roll and a complete list of picnic sponsors will be featured throughout the day via livestream, on the parish website and in local advertising.

Sponsorships of $250 and above will be recognized in pre-picnic advertising. Sponsors who donate $500 and above will be listed on the raffle ticket and receive two complimentary No-Show picnic shirts. Sponsorship packages and raffle tickets are available at

St. Meinrad Parish will continue to follow local public health department regulations and CDC guidelines for the health and safety of the limited volunteers and picnic-day guests accessing the drive-thru.
