Pair arrested for Chrisney liquor store robbery

From local sources

Detectives with the Jasper Post of the Indiana State Police have arrested two Rockport teenagers in connection with the armed robbery of a Chrisney liquor store earlier this month.

Alec M. Meredith, 18, and Justin Meserve, 19, each face a B felony count of armed robbery.

North Side Liquors was robbed Feb. 5. Police say Meredith entered the store with a gun and stole cash from the clerk.
They say Meserve was the getaway driver.

On Wednesday, police arrested Meredith at his home in Rockport. Meserve was arrested in Indianapolis later that night. Both are being held in the Spencer County Security Center.

Detectives believe the two were also involved in robbing a convenience store in Masonville, Ky., on Feb. 10. In that case, Meredith and Keith W. Philhower, 28, who police are still seeking, entered the store while Meserve acted as the getaway driver.

Anyone with information on Philhower should call the Indiana State Police, Jasper Post at 812-482-1441 or the Daviess County, Ky., Sheriff’s Department at 270-685-8444.
