JASPER — Police made an arrest today after a report early this morning that a possibly impaired driver had struck a curb with the truck he was driving.
Jasper Police Department officers answering the 2:34 a.m. report found Caleb E. Reinbold, 23, 1514 Dewey St. in a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 series truck that was running with its left front tire against a curb at 13th and Kundek streets.
Police said the driver’s side of the truck appeared to have recent damage. Reinbold, who showed signs of intoxication, allegedly admitted to drinking and being involved in a crash, but he would not say when, where or what his truck struck, according to authorities.
After failing field sobriety testing, Reinbold was taken to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for a blood draw that allegedly placed his blood alcohol content at .276 percent.
Authorities booked Reinbold into the Dubois County Security Center at 4:20 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
