JASPER — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office took a Vanderburgh County motorist into custody late Friday after a traffic stop east of Jasper.
A deputy patrolling in the area of State Road 164 and Jasper-Dubois Road stopped a Toyota passenger car at 10:30 p.m. after observing the vehicle making unsafe lane movements that included traveling left of center.
While making contact with driver Andrea L. Kiesel, 34, Evansville, the deputy noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from and on her person.
Police said Kiesel failed field sobriety testing and had a blood alcohol content that tested .258% in a certified test at the Jasper Police Station.
Authorities booked Kiesel into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:32 a.m. Saturday on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. She posted bond Saturday afternoon.
