JASPER — A report early Sunday of a male and a female in a verbal argument at an Indiana Street hotel resulted in an impaired driving arrest.
Jasper Police Department officers responding to the 2:40 a.m. complaint encountered a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado with its backup lights on in the lot. Police who made contact with the driver, William C. Miller III, 22, New Baden, Illinois, reported smelling the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Miller.
Police said Miller’s blood alcohol content later tested .11% in a certified chemical test at the Jasper Police Station.
Authorities booked Miller into the Dubois County Security Center at 5:42 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. Miller was released on his own recognizance that afternoon.
