HUNTINGBURG — Police accused a man of impaired driving after a traffic stop late Friday night in Huntingburg.

The Huntingburg Police Department stopped a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck at 11:53 p.m. in the area of Sixth and Chestnut streets when the driver, Joseph A. White, 22, 2025 Erin Court, Huntingburg, drove left of center. Police said an improper turn by White found his truck nearly striking an officer’s vehicle.

Police who said White showed signs of impairment alleged his blood alcohol content later tested .25%.

Authorities booked White into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:29 a.m. Saturday on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. He was released from the jail that evening.
