HUNTINGBURG — A traffic stop late Sunday night south of Huntingburg resulted in an arrest.
The Huntingburg Police Department stopped a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Raymond W. Proffitt, 31, 508 S. Foxtrot Court, Huntingburg, at 11:40 p.m. at U.S. 231 and County Road 900S because of a headlight violation.
Police who said Proffitt appeared under the influence noticed open alcoholic beverages in the vehicle.
After he failed field sobriety testing, police said Proffitt was transported to the Jasper Police Station for a certified breath test that placed his blood alcohol content at .207 percent.
Authorities booked Proffitt into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:40 a.m. today on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
