OWI arrest follows speeding stop

JASPER — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office placed a man into custody Sunday night after a traffic stop.

A deputy working Operation Pull Over stopped a Mazda passenger car driven by Edgar A. Ramos, 52, 818 E. 15th St., Jasper, at 9:21 p.m. at 36th and Newton streets after clocking the eastbound car traveling at 37 mph in the 25 mph zone near that location.

Police allege Ramos exhibited signs of intoxication and his blood alcohol content tested .156% in a certified test at the Jasper Police Station.

Authorities booked Ramos into the Dubois County Security Center at 10:55 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
