JASPER — Police accused a man of operating a scooter while intoxicated after investigating his single-vehicle accident Thursday evening.
The Jasper Police Department was dispatched to the report of an accident in the 1500 block of Mill Street at 7:36 p.m.
An officer found a 2008 Yamaha scooter at the scene but its owner, Christopher C. Divine, 47, 535 1/2 Main St., had left on foot, police were told.
Jasper police who located Divine at his residence said an investigation determined his blood alcohol content registered .324%.
After he was medically cleared at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, Divine was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:05 a.m. today on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
