JASPER — A traffic stop early Saturday in Jasper resulted in an arrest.
A Jasper Police Department officer stopped a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Joshua A. Emmons, 39, 801 Giesler Road, Jasper, at 1:54 a.m. after he allegedly failed to signal a turn at Second Street and South Newton Street.
During the stop, an officer began an impaired driving investigation after detecting the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.
Police said a blood draw at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center placed Emmons’ blood alcohol content at .16 percent.
Authorities booked Emmons into the Dubois County Security Center at 4:37 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated with a BAC in excess of .15 percent. Emmons posted bond Saturday afternoon.
