A new little princess was born at 7:39 a.m. June 2 to Derek and Jenelle Schwindel. She weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 21 inches long. She has been given the name, Emery Rose Christine. Emery will be welcomed home by her three brothers, Riede, Beau and Hoyte. The happy grandparents are Don and Rose Brang, Richard Dooley and Shawn and Cathy Schwindel. The great-grandmothers are Geneva Brang and Mary Dooley.
The 30th wedding anniversary of Dana and Pastor Keith Chanley was recognized Tuesday evening by several members of the Holland and Zoar UMC congregations in a surprise drive by the parsonage. Those participating met at Holland Park and went from there into town. The vehicles carried signs and balloons with best wishes. Cookies, cupcakes and gift certificates were given to those participating as they drove past.
John and Janet Hemmer attended the Mom’s Diner Cruise-in Car Show at Oakland City Friday evening and brought home the manager’s award for their 1953 Ford truck (known locally as the orange truck).
As things slowly begin to open up, here is a list of upcoming events for June:
Tin Fest Car Show at Stendal set for Saturday, June 13.
In-person services resume at the church on Sunday, June 14.
Church softball games start at Holland Park with Zoar’s schedule beginning June 16 and 17.
