The coronavirus has put an end to most meetings and gatherings. The announcement was made Sunday morning that the church services, meetings and other church events will be canceled until further notice.
The last EPIC meeting of the season will be held Wednesday evening. Since this is the final scheduled meeting and is the family night, it will be held. EPIC will resume in the fall.
A baby shower was held Saturday afternoon at the Straub Event Center near Haubstadt for Tara Frick. The theme of the shower was Moon and Stars and was hosted by Annette McDonald and Jennifer O’Neil. The mother to be received many nice gifts. Several from this area attended the shower.
Doug Hall and his children, Jesse and Saoirse, of St. Louis and Casper, Wyoming, surprised some of his family when they arrived Saturday to spend a few days with family and friends.
Evelyn Renee Booth was baptized Sunday morning during the worship service. Evelyn was born October 9, 2019, to Jill and Daryl Booth in Newburgh. She is the granddaughter of John and Janet Hemmer and Dallas and Polly Booth, Evansville. Great-grandmothers are Luella Sattler and Delores Hemmer. Evelyn has a big sister, Luella. A brunch was served in the church basement following the morning service.
Order forms are available at the church for those persons wishing to give flowers in memory or in honor of a loved one for Easter. There is also an opportunity to donate money for any church project in lieu of giving flowers.
The time has come to be forming teams and preparing for this year’s Putting Against Cancer Golf Scramble. The date is Saturday, May 9, and it will again be held at the Huntingburg Country Club. Additional information is available from Jeremy or Erin Marshall or Patty Nance.
The Flea Market that was to be held in Stendal on March 28 has been canceled. Plans are to reschedule it at a later date. That date has not been set at this time.
