EPIC met Wednesday evening. Attendance was on the way back up again with 39 youth and 18 adults. The supper menu for this Wednesday will be quesadillas, refried beans, rice, chips with a couple of different dips and fruit.

Josh and Paula Hemmer hosted a birthday party for their three daughters at their home last Saturday. Family and friends attended to wish Aniston, Tayleighn and Loxley a happy day. Each little girl had her own small birthday cake.

Becky Brockriede and Natalie Meece traveled to Manchester, Missouri, on Thursday afternoon to attend the school play of their grandson and nephew, Jesse Norman. The production was “Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Jesse is the son of Doug and Alaina Hall of Casper, Wyoming.

Tim and Cheryl Hilsmeyer celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary Friday evening with dinner at Applebees in Jasper. They were joined by friends, Mike and Kim Wampler.

The Holland Volunteer Fire Department will be having its annual dine and dance on Saturday night at the Ferdinand Community Center. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the meal being served at 6 p.m.

Cassie Miller and her mother and brother, Tammy Humbert and Kyle Miller, and Cassie’s wedding attendants gathered at the Hilsmeyer farm Saturday to prepare shower and wedding decorations. Those who gathered were given a tour of the new home being prepared for Cassie and Justin following their June 13 wedding at Zoar.

Lee Bilderback will be speaking Wednesday evening at the Dubois County Museum on the topic, “Agriculture in Dubois County. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Lee is a good speaker; this should be an enjoyable evening.

A fundraising brunch will be held on Sunday, Feb. 23, following the morning worship service in the church basement. Proceeds will go to the grove building fund. The menu will be breakfast casseroles, sweet rolls and drinks. Every dollar that is raised between Feb. 1 through May 15 will be matched up to $10,000.
