Attendance at EPIC this past week was excellent. There were 44 youth and 18 adults present. The menu for this week is turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans and a roll.
The mission team that recently returned from Jamaica shared events from their trip on Sunday morning during the worship service. All witnessed that they had been richly blessed by the experience.
Kim Wampler and friends Lena Giles, Barbara Siders and Jackie Dick, have returned from a six-day Carribean cruise. The women were able to share a Bible study during their time on board. Some points of interest they visited were Half Moon Cay, Amber Cove and Grand Turk.
The orders need to be in by next Sunday if you wish for poinsettias in honor or in memory of a loved one. A sign-up sheet and envelopes are available at the church. The flowers will be used to beautify the church for the Christmas season.
The community Thanksgiving supper will be held Sunday evening at the Holland Elementary School cafeteria from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
The Festival of Trees at the Dubois County Museum will be on display from Nov. 21 to Jan. 5. The different communities in the area including Zoar will have decorated trees on display.
The children’s Christmas party, sponsored by the Holland Kiwanis, will be held at the Holland Elementary School beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. The children will get to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, have milk and doughnuts and work on a craft project.
The women of the church will be having their Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 8. This year’s party will be a progressive dinner. The women will leave the church at 11 a.m. and visit three homes of church members. Appetizers will be served at the first home, the main course at the second home and dessert will be served at the final stop. In order for the hostesses to know how much to prepare for you must sign up; a reservation sheet is available at the church. The church van will be going so anyone who wishes to ride it may do so.
Just a reminder! The women of the church have their new cookbook available for $15. They also have bags of pecans and Rada knives, any or all will make great Christmas gifts, but orders need to be in by Dec. 1. You may contact Debbie Frick for any of the above items.
If you have an item that you would like to have in the Zoar News, you may contact me at 812-536-2920. Please have items to me by 6 p.m. Sunday.
