Our Town: Zoar

The EPIC group met Wednesday evening with 46 youths and 18 adults present. Following supper, they began filling Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. When the enjoyable job was finished, they had filled 116 boxes. They would like to say thank you to anyone who helped in any way. The menu for Wednesday evening supper will be pancakes, sausage and cereal.

The women of the church have their new cookbook available for sale. They also have bagged pecans and Rada knives to sell. If you wish to purchase any of these items for Christmas giving, you may contact Debbie Frick. Christmas orders must be in by Sunday, Dec. 1.

Don’t forget the flea market on Saturday in Stendal. Food will be available all day starting with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Many tables have been rented, so there should be something for everyone. There is no admission charge.

Our Charge Conference will be held Sunday at Christ United Methodist Church in Washington. Those in leadership roles in the church should attend.  The church bus will be going and you are welcome to ride.

The community Thanksgiving supper will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at the Holland Elementary School. A sign-up sheet is available at the church if you wish to attend.

Fundraising for the new building in the Grove continues. Contributions are coming in, but more is needed. We hope to reach our goal in time for next year’s Mosquito Fest.
