Don’t forget the Red Cross blood drive to be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Holland UMC.
The committee for the cookbook being put together for the 175th anniversary of the church is eager to receive recipes so that it will be finished in time for the celebration on Oct. 13. Recipes need to be received by Thursday, Aug. 1. The committee is Ruth Blackgrove, Debbie Frick and MaLea Wagner.
The Color Run will be held again this year at the Mosquito Fest. If you would like additional information on this event, you may contact Amber Brockriede or Jenny Polley. This was a fun event last year and is planned to be bigger and better this year. Entries are still being sought for the stationary parade. The new flavor of homemade ice cream has not yet been revealed, but there are many old favorites that are returning.
The Pike County fair is coming soon. This year’s dates are July 21 to 27. The 4-H exhibitors and anyone interested in exhibiting in the Open Class are advised to be completing their projects soon.
We will be celebrating our nation’s birthday this week. We hope all of you have a happy holiday and urge you to be safe.
