It was a wonderful experience for those involved. Erich Kendall is the director of the Southridge Concert Choir.
Forty youth and 15 adults attended EPIC last Wednesday evening. The supper menu for this Wednesday will be hamburgers, cheeseburgers, French fries, a dill pickle and pears.
Laura Hemmer of Cincinnati arrived Friday afternoon to spend the weekend with family and friends.
Hoyte Joseph Schwindel was baptized Sunday morning during the worship service by Pastor Keith Chanley. Hoyte is the son of Derek and Jenelle Schwindel. His proud grandparents are Don and Rose Brang, Richard Dooley Jr., Shawn and Cathy Schwindel and Cindy Schaeffer. Mary M. Dooley and Geneva Brang are the great-grandmothers and Sabrina Betz is Hoyte’s godmother. A dinner was held in the Schwindel home following the service.
The Lenten service this week will be held at the Holland United Methodist Church. Supper will be held at 5:30 p.m. with the study beginning around 6 p.m.
Don’t forget the big flea market on Saturday at the Lockhart Community Center in Stendal. There is no admission charge. Food will be available all day with breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m. The breakfast menu consists of sweet rolls, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Soups, sandwiches and desserts will be available throughout the day. Tables have been rented for baked goods, antiques, crafts, toys, knives, advertising items, old postcards, baseball cards, jewelry, homemade jelly, old tools, collectibles, primitives, rugs and much more. Stendal is located at the end of State Road 257 and old State Road 64 in southern Pike County.
The Good Friday service will be held April 19 at Zoar. A combined choir will be providing the music. Choir members from the various churches involved are asked to take part in this choir.
The community Bible school will take place at Zoar this year. The theme of this year’s school is “Athens: Paul’s Dangerous Journey to Share the Truth.” Members are asked to participate in any way they can to make this a meaningful experience for the children.
