Bill and Patty Nance had surgeries this past week. They are recovering at home and doing well with the help of family and friends.
The EPIC group met Wednesday with 45 youth and 18 adults. The supper menu for Wednesday evening will be chicken noodle soup, chili, hot dogs and fruit.
Tim and Cheryl Hilsmeyer spent last weekend in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Opryland Hotel attending the National Wild Turkey Federation Convention. On Saturday they visited Brooke Harris and family in Springfield, Tennessee. Brooke is the niece of Mrs. Hilsmeyer
A bridal shower was held in Evansville last Saturday at the St. James United Methodist Church West for Tara McDonald. Her chosen attendants and mothers, Annette McDonald and Debbie Frick, hosted the event. Tara McDonald and Kyle Frick will be married March 30 in a private family ceremony in Evansville. A reception will be held at the Vandenburgh 4-H Fairgrounds for friends and family. Kyle is the son of Ray and Debbie Frick.
A birthday dinner was held last Saturday at the home of Tim and Janie Meyer to celebrate the 87th and 26th birthdays of Mary Lou Bohnenkemper and her granddaughter, Canaan Preston. Those attending in addition to the hosts and the honored guests were Josh Meyer of Kokomo and Jared, Jordon and Charlie Merter and Joni Bohnenkemper of Huntingburg.
The Southern Belles Homemakers met Thursday in Boonville for lunch. The birthdays of Pam Thomas and Mary Lou Bohnenkemper were recognized with gifts from their secret pals. There were seven members attending. Diane Leon will be the March hostess.
Anyone who missed "Fiddler On The Roof" at Southridge High School this past Thursday, Friday or Saturday missed an enjoyable experience. The students did a marvelous job, and several from this area attended the performances.
The World Day of Prayer will be held at noon Friday, March 1, at Augustana United Church of Christ. A light lunch will follow. The theme is “Come — Everything is Ready.” The women of Slavia challenge us all to widen our circles, to expand our communities.
