A large crowd attended the Christmas band and choir concert at Southridge High School on Sunday afternoon. The students did an excellent job of ushering in the Christmas season.

The EPIC group met Wednesday evening with 38 youth and 18 adults. The menu for Wednesday evening will be chicken nuggets, French fries, green beans and fruit.

The children’s Christmas party was held Sunday at the church. Each child brought a $5 gift for exchange. The children decorated cookies and made an ornament to take home.

Christmas program practice has begun for the Christmas Eve program at the church.

The Pairs and Spares Sunday School class will hold its Christmas party at 5 p.m. Sunday at Shoney’s Restaurant in Jasper. The cost is $5 per person.

The United Methodist Women’s Christmas party will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday. The theme for this year’s party will be “My Favorite Things.” Each person attending is asked to bring three of their favorite things, all three items are to be the same. The”favorite things” should cost $5 or less. Each person will go home with three items. A luncheon will be served and those attending are asked to bring items to be given to the food pantries.

A women’s Night of Worship will be held Friday, Dec. 14, at the church. This will be an evening to relax and soak in God’s goodness with candlelight, scripture and music. A time of fellowship will follow the service that will begin at 7:30 p.m.
