Family members and friends gathered at Meadowtop Farm for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday and to help with Cookie Day on Friday. Thirty-eight shared the Thanksgiving dinner and 30 returned to bake 1,784 cookies on Friday. The 15 varieties of cookies were divided among the families. The flu kept some from participating.

Rose and Donnie Brang and family hosted a family Thanksgiving supper Thursday at their home.

Diane Leon had Thanksgiving dinner at her home in Lake Helmerich. Her guests were Scott and Kristina Reed and daughters, Veronica and Sloan, Louisville, and Brett and Tracie Hilsmeyer, Chase and Malan Hilsmeyer, Evansville.

John and Janet Hemmer hosted the Sattler family Thanksgiving on Thursday evening in their home.

Tim and Cheryl Hilsmeyer served Thanksgiving dinner at their home Sunday evening for members of Cheryl’s family.

The Stendal High School Class of 1961 met Saturday at Cakes and Coffee in Petersburg.  Those who attended the reunion were Erich Meyer, Carroll Aust, Edgar Katterhenry, Don Eilert, Sandra Bilderback Beck, Linda Corn Miller, Judy Kamman Heilman, Karen Beadles Bedwell and Diane Hilsmeyer Leon.  Class member Dawn Rademacher was unable to attend for health reasons. The late Judith Tisdale was remembered.

Andrew Meece spoke at the Santa Claus United Methodist Church Sunday morning. He is the son of Jeff and Natalie Meece.

St. James Lutheran Church of Holland will have an Advent Candle light service “The Inn Crowd” on Sunday evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. The offering from the event will be going to the Rodenhouse family to help with medical expenses.
