Our Town: Zoar

Sunday is Shoebox Sunday at the church. The shoeboxes will be packed Wednesday evening at EPIC and dedicated Sunday morning. If you have items for them, please bring them to the church by Wednesday evening or if you are completing your own boxes bring them to church Sunday morning. Operation Christmas Child will see that the boxes get where they are most needed.

Reverend Roy Carpenter is now at Brookside Village Senior Living Community in Jasper. He would enjoy short visits and cards. Roy is a past pastor of the Zoar and Holland United Methodist churches.

Cheryl Hilsmeyer went to Boonville Sunday afternoon to help her great-niece, Brie McKain, celebrate her third birthday.  Brie is the daughter of Bryan McKain and the granddaughter of Jayne McKain.

The flea market at Stendal will be held Saturday at the Stendal Community Center. The many tables will offer something for everyone. The market will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food will be available all day. Come out and enjoy the fun.

Just a reminder! The community Thanksgiving dinner will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Holland Elementary School. Zoar is one of the sponsoring churches.
