There was a good turnout for the Rodenhouse benefit at the church on Sunday.
John and Janet Hemmer hosted a birthday supper for her mother, Luella Sattler, at their home Saturday evening.
Darren and Dean Trummel delivered several boxes of Christian literature to Love Packages at Butler, Illinois, on Aug. 13. Included in the delivery were several boxes of Bibles collected by Sandra Hopf. She has set a goal for herself of collecting 500 Bibles for Love Packages. So far she has collected 411 Bibles. Anyone wanting to donate Bibles and help Sandra reach her goal may reach her at 812-631-4319. After leaving Butler, the Trummels traveled to the Midwest Distribution Center near Pawnee, Illinois, to deliver 16 flood buckets that were put together by the Zoar United Methodist Church.
The 17th birthday of Grace Meece was celebrated Sunday evening at the home of her grandparents, Bill and Jean Meece. The party was well attended by family members. Grace is the daughter of Jeff and Natalie Meece.
The Weitkamp reunion will be held at the church on Labor Day Sunday. This is one of the largest reunions held at Zoar. Everyone should make plans now to attend and bring their favorite foods for the noon meal if a member of the Weitkamp family. They are asked to updates of births, wedding and deaths in their families.
