Our Town: Zoar

The 46th annual Mosquito Fest is now history!  It was a successful event and a lot of tired people attended the outdoor church service Sunday morning in the Grove. Still, it was a good feeling for many to know it was a job well done.

An open house was held Sunday at the new home of Ryan and Jamie McKain in Sellersburg. Some of the family members that attended were Cheryl Hilsmeyer, Keith and Denise Oser and Travis and Kate LaMart of Holland, McKenzie Hilsmeyer of Indianapolis and Ryan, Meagan and Blake McKain of Evansville.

Brett Hilsmeyer and Traci Lamey, both of Evansville, were married Friday at the Courthouse in Jasper. The couple will be making their home in Evansville. The groom is the son of Diane Leon at Lake Helmerich Village.

Laura Hemmer of Cincinnati and Ron and Rachel Hughes of Richmond arrived to spend the weekend with family members here and to attend and work at the Mosquito Fest.

Doug and Alaina Hall of Casper, Wyoming, and children, Jesse and Saoirse, have returned home after spending several days here with family.

Be sure and mark your calendars for Aug. 19. That is the date for the Rodenhouse benefit. There will be more details in next week’s news column.
