Our Town: ZoarAugust 17, 2020
By DOLORES HEMMER
The taste of early fall weather this week has been a welcome change from the heat and humidity we had been experiencing and is a reminder of how quickly the year is passing.
The youth of our two schools-Southridge and Pike Central-are back in session. Southridge has their first football game at Home on August 21st against Linton-Stockton. Pike Central will host Brown County the same evening in their first home game. Several of our college students are headed to their various colleges and universities this week.
The church league ballgames have ended for the summer. The Zoar ladies had a 3 and 1 season and finished in second place. The men went undefeated and finished third in the tourney. Congratulations!
John and Janet Hemmer and William and Jolene Caldemeyer spent Wednesday through Sunday of this past week vacationing in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. They attended the F 100 Family Reunion Truck Show and other points of interest.
Jason and Beth Goeppner and sons took their son, Brandon, to Purdue University over the weekend where he is enrolled for the fall semester. They visited with friends and family members while they were in the area.
