St. Isidore Youth Group will host a breakfast between 8 and 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The menu includes bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and fruit. It will be held in the St. Raphael Catholic Church basement. Cost will be a freewill donation. They invite you to join them for breakfast and fellowship.
Distinguished Service Award
The Celestine Park Inc. will host the 28th annual Distinguished Service Award at a brunch at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, in the Celestine Dining Hall following Mass. The Celestine Park Inc. would like to recognize individuals who are nominated by the community who have shown great commitment, pride and dedication.

Northeast Dubois School Corp. kindergarten roundup will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4.
A Streetfest 2020 planning meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in the Happy Hour Sports Bar & Grill basement. Streetfest 2020 will be held Saturday, June 27.
Someone from all areas of the fest should attend to give a brief report on their plans and needs for the 2020 event. If you want to get involved with helping plan the fest for 2020 this would be a great meeting to attend and step up to help keep this amazing fest going.
Items on the agenda include event goal setting, schedule review, entertainment discussion, new event ideas, brainstorming for all areas, chairperson and committee reports, openings for new committees and an open call for new ideas and suggestions.
Additionally, if you have anything you want to talk about before the meeting there will be an officers’ planning meeting a few days before the public meeting. Contact Tony Buechler for more information.
The committee asks each of the main organizations that play major roles (and will receive future distributions from the profits) have one or two members on hand to take notes and report back to their organizations. These include the Celestine Community Club, Celestine Park, Knights of Columbus, Northeast Dubois PTO, Celestine Volunteer Fire Department and St. Isidore Parish.
The one-night sheephead tourneys on Fridays will continue on Feb. 7 and March 6 at the club. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., plays begins at 7 p.m. Food and refreshments will be available. The tourneys are open to the public.

K of C free throw
The Good Shepherd of the Hills Knights of Columbus recently held its free throw competition. Winners and those finishing runner-up in each age division were announced.
Winners were Carson Beck, Laura Goller, Luke Smith, Raynie Schnell, Landon Goller, Emma Mitchell, Brock Werner and Macey Harrison. Runners-up were Brycen Mroz, Alli Betz, Zach Betz, Jenna Vogel, Brayden Beck and Emma Betz.
D of I Jasper Circle 140
The Daughters of Isabella Jasper Circle 140 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, in Room 301, St. Joseph Parish Center.
Membership dues for 2020 are now payable. The dues are $20. Members with last names A through K are asked to send their $20 check with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Betty Mehringer, 1744 W. Ackerman Road, Jasper, while members with last names L through Z are asked to send their check and envelope to Chris Schuetter, 2452 N. Mill St., Jasper.

D of I card party
Daughters of Isabella Jasper Circle 140 will host their annual card party at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Moose Lodge 1175 Family Center, 2507 N Newton St. Admission is $2 per ticket. Participants should bring their own cards and games. Coffee and dessert will be served. Food and drinks will be available.
Class reunion planned
Dubois High School Class of 1975 Reunion Committee asks classmates to save the date for their 45th class reunion for Saturday, Oct. 3. The reunion will be held at the home of Becky and Roch Ubelhor in Schnellville. Contact Kathy Bachman at 812-630-8696 if you have any questions. A formal invitation will be sent in August. The committee asks that members and classmate’s families inform other classmates about this date. Let Kathy Bachman know if there is a change of information since the last reunion.
Celestine Community Club
Celestine Community Club held its membership supper on Jan. 25.
New officers for 2020 are Donnie Lueken, president; Wade Lueken, vice president; Rick Vonderheide, secretary; Bernie Merkel, treasurer; and Adam Brosmer, director-at-large. Committee chairmen are Angie Dooley, membership; Kurt Schepers, grounds; Holly Epple, kitchen and bar; Lisa Hohler and Paul Gehlhausen, shoots; and Nick Schmitt, finance.
Outgoing President Allen Luebbehusen spoke about the 2019 year and thanked all those who volunteered during the year. Lueken thanked Luebbehusen and outgoing Treasurer Ryan Hasenour for their leadership.
The club will host its spring shoots beginning Friday, March 13. The Celestine Park’s annual shoot is on Friday, March 20. Other shoots planned are the Celestine Club on Friday, March 27, Good Shepherd of the Hills Knights of Columbus on Friday, April 3, and Celestine Volunteer Fire Department’s annual shoot on Friday, April 17. All of the shoots are on Friday nights. The kitchen opens at 6 p.m., and the closed match begins at 8 p.m.
Members were reminded that club meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 8 p.m. The 2019 saw renovations and improvements to the club in the form of painting on the inside and outside of the building, new entryway and new bar renovation. Receiving a $500 scholarship in 2019 each from the club were Kaitlyn Mundy and Gabby Sander.
