The Celestine Community Club is reaching the end of its 14-week fall shooting match season with their biggest match of the year on Thanksgiving Eve, Nov. 27. Boards will be taken for this match beginning Wednesday, Nov. 20. As always, the kitchen will serve dinners and sandwiches beginning at 6 p.m. The closed match will begin at 8 p.m.
Ladies night out
Ladies 21 and older are welcome to join the Dubois Ruritan Club for a Ladies Night Out fundraiser from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the Dubois Community Park Building. Admission is free. Participants will be able to shop from 25 different makers and vendors for all of their gift-giving and personal needs. Wine and appetizers will be available at reasonable prices, and there will be plenty of laughter and cheer to kick off the Holiday Season!
The Northeast Dubois High School Holiday Ball will be on Friday, Nov. 22, at the Celestine Community Club.

Sunday, Dec. 8: The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is transferred to Monday, Dec. 9, and is not a holy day of obligation in 2019.
Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24: 4 p.m., St. Celestine Catholic Church (children’s play begins at 3:30 p.m.); 5:30 p.m. at St. Raphael Church (children’s music and play begins at 5 p.m.; and 10 p.m., St. Celestine Church.
Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25: 9 a.m., St. Raphael Church.
Saturday, Dec. 28: 8 a.m., Mass of Holy Innocents, St, Raphael Church.
Tuesday, Dec. 31: 5:30 p.m., Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Holy Day of Obligation), St. Celestine Church.
Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020: 8 a.m., Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Holy Day of Obligation), St. Raphael Church.
The St. Isidore Parish Office will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29.
The public is invited to an ecumenical service to celebrate Thanksgiving at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Dubois Crossroads.
Cookie walk, tree lighting
The public is invited to the cookie walk and Christmas tree lighting in Celestine on Sunday, Dec. 1. The cookie walk will take place from 8 a.m. to noon in the St. Isidore Parish Center. From 4 to 5:30 p.m. live Christmas music will be performed and at 4:45 p.m. a new event — Candy Cane Chase — will take place in downtown Celestine. Santa Claus will arrive 5:30 p.m. and the tree lighting will take place at 6:15 p.m. Immediately following the tree lighting, refreshments will be served and a drawing will be held for a $100 gift card in the St. Isidore Parish Center.
The Celebration Singers will present a free, one-hour Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, in St. Celestine Church following the town’s annual Christmas tree lighting. The public is invited to attend this heartwarming Christmas performance. Free-will offerings will be collected to help defray the non-profit choir’s expenses. The all-volunteer community choir includes singers and musicians from Dubois, Spencer, Pike and Martin counties. St. Anne’s Christmas dinner
St. Anne’s Sodality invites all St. Isidore ladies ages 13 and older to join in its annual Christmas Party. This year, the party will be held on Monday, Dec. 2, at the Celestine Community Club. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. Please consider joining your fellow lady parishioners for a nice dinner. The cost for the meal is $5. There will also be a $5 gift exchange for those who would like to participate. Look for your letter in the mail. RSVPs will needed by Monday, Nov. 25.
The American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday, Dec. 8, from in St. Celestine Fellowship Hall.
Longest Night service
Abbey Caskets, a work of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, will host a Service of the Longest Night at 6 p.m. CT Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Saint Meinrad Archabbey Guest House Chapel in St. Meinrad, Fr. Adrian Burke, OSB, will lead prayer and scripture that acknowledges those who mourn and struggle with lose during the holiday season. Everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will follow. The inspiring Feast of the Holy Family celebration of Nativity displays returns after the 8 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Dec, 29, in the St. Celestine Dining Hall. Everyone is invited for doughnuts, coffee and fellowship while allowing the public to view different Nativity scenes. If you have a Nativity scene to share in the display, please contact Connie Matheis or have scene to her by Friday, Dec. 20.
On Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, the St. Isidore Youth will host a Trivia Night at the Celestine Community Club. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and trivia begins at 7 p.m. Contact Connie Matheis at 812-634-1875 to register your team of eight. Cost is $15 per person or $120 per table. All proceeds benefit the youth of our parish. A cash bar and snacks will be available. Come out for a fun night of trivia and fellowship!
