The Rosary will continue to be prayed at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at the St. Raphael Rosary Trail through October. All are welcome to join.
A great way to prepare for Mass is to come early and pray the Rosary. Currently, the Rosary is being led before the 4:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. Masses. Beginning Oct. 13, this will include the 10 a.m. Mass. The Rosary begins 30 minutes before Mass. Anyone attending the 10 a.m. Mass and can lead is asked to call or ask Fr. Jeff.
Prison ministry speakers
Juniors and seniors will meet at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper for Paraclete Prison ministry speakers from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Celestine VFD open house
The Celestine Volunteer Fire Department will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Celestine Volunteer Fire Department.
Soup, snacks and drinks will be served. There will be activities for kids of all ages. At 11:30 a.m., there will be a recognition of past fire department members, a blessing of the station and rescue truck, followed by a flag presentation. This is the 40th anniversary for the Celestine Volunteer Fire Department serving the community and area. They invite the community to come check out their firefighting trucks, equipment and greet the new members as they meet the challenges of fighting fires today.

Simply simple and delicious holiday entertaining: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23. Preregister by Oct. 21.
Pumpkin decorating: 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24.
End-of-the-Month Book Club: 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28. Stop by the front desk to pick up a copy.
Bats presentation: 6 p.m. Tues, Oct. 29.
Celestine 175th Streetfest
The next Celestine 175th meeting is planned for 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Happy Hour Sports Bar & Grill basement for a Streetfest 2020 planning meeting. Streetfest 2020 will be held Saturday, June 27.
People from all areas of the fest are asked to attend to give a brief report on what their plans and needs for the 2020 event. If anyone wants to get involved with helping plan the fest for 2020 this would be a great meeting to attend and step up to help keep this amazing fest going! This will probably be the last meeting of 2019 with monthly meetings to resume in January leading up to the event.
Items on the agenda include event goal setting and brainstorming, schedule review and brainstorming, entertainment discussion, new event ideas and brainstorming, chairperson committee reports, openings for new committees, and open call for new ideas and suggestions.
