Congratulations to these members of St. Isidore Parish as they participate in the Rite of Confirmation on Saturday, Sept. 28, at St. Celestine Catholic Church at the Saturday night Mass at 4:30 p.m.
Members of the Confirmation class of 2019 are Carter Beckman, Parker Beckman, Payton Bowles, Trevor Buechler, Adelle Fravell, Blake Helming, Breanna Holden, Tanner Hurt, Dominic Knebel, Lane Knies, Madison Knies, Logan Lampert, Luke Lockard, Elijah Lueken, Nicholas Lueken, Gracie Mehringer, Logan Mehringer, Ross Mehringer, Hali Nesbitt, Olivia Rasche, Ty Riecker, Jazlyn Sander, Kari Ann Scherzinger, Blake Schroering, Jaxen Sermersheim, Jacob Tower, Cole Tretter, Courtney Vittitow and Nicole Vonderheide.
The 4:30 p.m. Mass location changes to St. Raphael Catholic Church on Oct. 12.
Wisdom Day will be held Monday, Oct. 14, at the Huntingburg Event Center. Registration starts at 8 a.m., and the program is from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The emcee is Pat Koch. Presenters are the Most Reverend Joseph Siegel, Tim McGuire, Jason Recker, Matt Potter and Sister Anita Louise Lowe.
The Knights of Columbus will host a Father Michael J. McGivney Priests, Deacons and Religious Vocations Appreciation Dinner on Tuesday Oct. 29, at the Huntingburg Event Center.
The public is invited to the dinner celebrating priests, deacons and religious workers who serve residents of Dubois, Spencer and Pike counties. The keynote speaker will be Paul Zielinski, Indiana Knights of Columbus state deputy.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the meal is served at 7 p.m. Catering and decorations will be by Chef Tim Flick, owner of Fueled Strength Meals. Tickets must be purchased in through the parish office by Monday, Oct. 14. Cost is $20 per person.
Anyone wanting to show their appreciation to dedicated clergy and religious but cannot attend may want to consider a donation to the local K of C.
K of C goals
The Good Shepherd of the Hills Knights of Columbus has as one of its goals to become the strong right arm of the church. To insure we meet that goal for our St. Isidore Parish, we need the support of dedicated Catholic men like you. If you are a practicing Catholic man 18 years or older, please consider a rewarding membership in our council. You will be glad you did. Caleb is beginning his second year of Seminary at Saint Meinrad where he is discerning and studying to be a priest. Chase is in residence at the Father Deydier House of Discernment on the grounds St. Agnes Church and part of St. Boniface Parish in Evansville where Father John Brosmer is pastor. Father Tyler Tenbarge is coordinator at Father Deydier House.

There will be no preschool this year on Sunday mornings at St. Isidore Parish. The preschoolers are encouraged to attend Mass with their families and participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word during the 8 and 10 a.m. Masses. Children’s Liturgy of the Word is for ages 3 through 5 not yet attending kindergarten.

St. Isidore Social
St. Isidore parish invites the public to attend the annual St. Isidore Parish Social from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at St. Raphael’s Parish in Dubois. Enjoy a family-style meal, as well as, carryout meals, a buried treasure tent, raffles, games, baskets and country store.

Aden Thewes, a sophomore at Northeast Dubois High School, will be collecting letters, cards and/or colored pages to be distributed to veterans. Our Hoosier Heroes will be returning from Washington, D.C., the night of Oct. 5. During the flight back, the mail will be distributed to the veterans.
