Voting this weekend
St. Isidore Parish will be voting for new members of their Parish Council and Religious Education Commission this weekend. These are two important boards within the parish. They thank those who accepted the nomination and to all of those currently serving.
Divine Mercy Parish at the Schnellville campus has acquired a new pipe organ. All are invited to the special blessing and dedication of this organ on Sunday, July 28 at 2 p.m. Bishop Joseph Siegel will bless the organ. This will be followed by a sacred concert and prayer service. A reception will follow.
Parish quilt show
Twenty-one beautiful homemade quilts will displayed. The quilts will be available for sale or will be raffled at the St. Isidore shoot at the Celestine Community Club on Sunday, Oct. 27.
The quilts can be viewed at the St. Celestine Campus Hall in Celestine on the following dates:
Saturday, Aug. 3: 4 to 6 p.m. (Mass at 4:30 p.m.).
Sunday, Aug. 4: 9 to 10 a.m. (Mass at 8 a.m.).
Monday, Aug. 5: 4 to 6:30 p.m.

St. Isidore Parish will host a reception honoring Sisters Susan and Jill Reuber, who are siblings, on Sunday, Aug. 4, following the 8 a.m. Mass in the St. Celestine Dining Hall. Jill and Susan are the daughters of Paul and Linda Reuber of Celestine.
Pool, pizza party
The pool and pizza party will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Jasper Swimming Pool. Pizza will be served in the park. Pizza will be served in the park.
K of C meeting
There will be a Knights of Columbus officers’ meeting at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, in the St. Celestine Catholic Church’s Dining Hall. A regular business meeting will be held at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the Happy Hour Sports Bar & Grill basement.
Any Catholic gentleman interested in learning more about the benefits of becoming a K of C member is welcome to come to Happy Hour at 7 p.m. prior to the meeting or send an email to email@example.com.
The Streetfest 2019 wrap-up meeting will start at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, in the Happy Hour Sports Bar & Grill basement. Someone from each area of the fest is asked to attend to give a report on what went great and what needs to be improved for Streetfest 2020. Free food and drinks will be provided.
Anyone wanting to get involved with planning for the 2020 fest should attend this meeting.
Breakfast, game day
Everyone is welcome to join together for some fellowship and food after the First Friday Mass at 8 a.m. at St. Celestine. The buffet breakfast will be held at the Happy Hour Sports Bar & Grill Restaurant followed by game day at St. Celestine Dining Hall.
Bishop Joseph Siegel will preside at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Aug. 17, at St. Celestine Catholic Church. Fr. Jeff Read will be installed pastor of St. Isidore Parish. A welcome reception will follow Mass in the Celestine Dining Hall.
Jeep Booster golf scramble
The Jeep Booster’s golf scramble will be held at Lucas Oil Golf Course on Saturday, Aug. 24, beginning with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The format will be four-person scramble teams by making your own team. Each player should turn in their handicap or average 18-hole score when entering your team. The cost is $60 per player, which includes entry fee, one mulligan and a raffle ticket. Refreshments, burgers and brats are complimentary on the course. The deadline to enter is Thursday, Aug. 15.
Family of the Month
The Good Shepherd of the Hills Knights of Columbus Council has nominated the Chris and Christine Sander family as the Family of the Month for August to thank them for their service to the parish and local community.
A fifth- and sixth-grade youth gathering will be held from 3 to 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the St. Raphael Campus. The youth minister will meet students at the front of school to gather and walk to the St. Raphael Campus. Students attending will need a note saying that they can be released to the church after school. A light snack will be served.
Junior high youth group meetings for students in grades seven and eight will be held on the first Wednesday of the month at the St. Celestine Campus starting at 5:30 p.m. The first meeting will be held Sept. 4.

Wiffle ball teams are needed for the wiffle ball tourney at the Dubois Septemberfest Labor Day weekend. Call the parish office or 812-639-9552 if interested.
College connection kickoff will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6. All college-bound and post-college students are invited to attend the 6:30 p.m. Mass at St. Celestine Church for a special blessing. After Mass, there will be a gathering in the St. Celestine Dining Hall with chips and salsa. This will be a great way to get information from current college students on how they were able to stay connected with their faith while away at college. Anyone not being able to attend Mass may still join in the gathering.
The Celestine Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a $4,975 grant through the Indiana Department of Natural Resources-Volunteer Fire Assistance Program. These funds will be used in helping to outfit the new brush truck they are in the process of specifying and building with much needed equipment, along with communication equipment. The Dubois Volunteer Fire Department received a $4,413 grant from the same program. The long-running grant program has greatly assisted the department over the years.
