The Celestine Community Club has several spring shoots:

The doors will open at 5 p.m. for the shoots, and the kitchen will open at 6 p.m. Closed matches begin at 8 p.m. All are invited to come out and support these wonderful organizations that do so much for the parish and community.
Rice bags, food drive
St. Isidore Parish will again be passing around rice bags at all Masses. Any spare change that you have can add up to make a huge difference.
There are baskets at the altar of St. Celestine Church for the St. Vincent DePaul food drive. Any donation of nonperishable food items is appreciated.
Plastic Easter eggs
There are boxes at the main entrances of both churches, if anyone has an extra plastic eggs they would like to donate.
Easter egg hunts will be held after the 8 a.m. Mass Sunday, April 7, at St. Celestine Catholic Church and after the 10 a.m. Mass Sunday, April 14, at St. Raphael Catholic Church.
Post-prom meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 1, and April 8 through 12.
Meeting times for the week of April 8 through 12 will be announced.
Post-prom will be held April 13.
The Dubois and Celestine Elementary schools’ spring recital will be held at the Dubois Middle School Multi-Purpose Room at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. The Dubois Elementary recital is Thursday, April 4. The Celestine Elementary recital is Tuesday, April 9.
Family of the Month
The Good Shepherd of the Hills Knights of Columbus Council has nominated the Mike and Ann Hassfurther family as the Family of the Month for April. We thank them for their service to the parish and the local community.
K of C meeting notices
The officers’ meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, in St. Celestine Catholic Church Hall.
The next regular business meeting will be held at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, in the Happy Hour Sports Bar and Grill’s lower level. This is the last meeting before the largest fundraiser of the year, which is the fish fry and shoot. All members are invited to attend.
Any Catholic gentleman interested in learning more about the benefits of becoming a K of C member is welcome to come to the Happy Hour at 7 p.m. prior to the meeting. For additional information, contact Ted Schnackertz at 812-389-2529 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Streetfest 2019 meeting
Join the community of Celestine at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in the basement of The Happy Hour Sports Bar & Grill for the next public planning meeting for Streetfest 2019. The fest is set for Saturday, June 29.
The meeting will include reports from all chairpersons and areas of the fest. They welcome anyone to attend to contribute ideas.
They ask that each of the main organizations that play major roles (and will receive future distributions from the profits) have one or two members on hand to take notes and report back to their organizations. These organizations are the Celestine Community Club, Celestine Park, Knights of Columbus, Celestine PTO, Celestine Volunteer Fire Department and St. Isidore Parish.
Schedule: Final review so we people can begin promoting it to the public.
Menu: Reports from the Celestine Park and Knights of Columbus on their proposed menu items.
Gaming: Updates on the gaming activities we are planning, we need people to help on this committee
Logistics, set-up and tear down: Updates on the plans in these areas, along with a call for help in these areas.

Paint like Bob Ross
The Dubois Branch Library is offering a second class for adults 18 and older led by certified Bob Ross Instructor Brian Sutton from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11. The painting is “Lakeside Path” from the Bob Ross “The Joy of Painting” series. All materials are included. Beginning painters are welcome. No previous painting experience is required. Participants will paint on an 11-by-14-inch canvas.
The cost of the class is $50 or $40 using the code “DUBOIS.” People must register and pay online to reserve their spot. Go to www.bendintheroadstudio.com and scroll down to find the May 11 Dubois announcement to sign up. The library cannot sign anyone up or take payments. The class is located at the library, 5506 E. Main St. There is a limit of 20 participants.
Breakfast and game day
Everyone is welcome to join together for some fellowship and food after First Friday Mass at 8 a.m. at St. Celestine. A buffet breakfast at Happy Hour Bar & Grill Restaurant will be followed by Game Day at St. Celestine Dining Hall.
The fellowship breakfast will be Sunday, April 7, at St. Celestine Dining Hall after the 8 a.m. Mass. All are welcome to join for some great food and fellowship. The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures. Pancakes, sausage, eggs, German potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and fruit salad will be served.
The breakfast is sponsored by the Good Shepherd of the Hills K of C Council. A freewill offering will be taken to help purchase sonogram machines to deter abortions.
Easter egg hunts
Easter egg hunts are scheduled on Sunday, April 7, after the 8 a.m. Mass at St. Celestine Catholic Church and Sunday, April 14, after the 10 a.m. Mass at St. Raphael Catholic Church.
The Celestine Park will host its annual rabies and distemper vaccinations clinic from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 8. The cost is $12 each for the rabies and distemper shots. These shots will be administered by Dr. Dan Hasenour, DVM.
Easter egg sale
The Dubois Volunteer Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary is selling colored Easter eggs for $3 per dozen. Contact Jami Eichmiller at 812-678-2279 or Jami Kalb at 812-678-4607 if interested. Orders will be taken until Wednesday, April 10. All proceeds go to the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department.
Fish fry, shooting match
Good Shepherd of the Hills K of C Council 13623 will hold its 15th annual fundraising fish fry and shooting match on Friday, April 12.
Drive-thru catfish dinners will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. The $10 fish dinner includes a generous portion of fried catfish, homemade German fries, slaw and bread. Dine-in and carryout service begins at 6 p.m. and will feature fish dinners, chicken dinners and hamburgers.
The event will feature a closed shooting match at 8 p.m. First choice is a one-half beef; beef and pork choices will be offered thereafter.
The Good Shepherd Council serves the St. Isidore Parish, St. Celestine and St. Raphael churches and the local communities through numerous charitable projects and programs. All proceeds fund its charitable works.
The American Red Cross will conduct a blood Drive from 7 a.m. to midnight Sunday, April 14, in the St. Celestine Dining Hall.
