St. Isidore Online Mass Broadcast

The 4:30 p.m. Saturday night Mass is currently being live treamed on Facebook. It will also be posted to the prish website, Facebook and YouTube pages for viewing on demand on Sunday morning.

Covid-19 Precaution Update from St. Isidore Parish

The dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass has been extended to Nov. 1. The state face covering executive order includes the following exemption from the face covering requirement, found in section 4-o:“any person attending or engaged in a religious service as he or she must already maintain six feet of social distancing from another person not in the same household.” As of now, our present guidelines will be staying the same. The wearing of masks is highly encouraged. Please only sit a pew with your family unless you can be within 6 feet of others. With the precautionary measures continuing through October, it is likely that we will continue the 4:30 p.m. Mass at St. Celestine in order to maintain a larger capacity in the church. We realize this is a significant change. But making sure we have enough room for everyone is most important. As a reminder, those wishing to receive Holy Communion on the tongue, are asked to come forward after everyone else has received. Not just on your side.

Eucharistic Adoration Beginning Monday, August 24

Eucharistic Adoration at St. Raphael will be moved from Wednesday to Monday. This is due to the fact that Religious Education classes will be taking place in the church on Wednesdays. Moving to Monday will also accommodate the cleaning schedule. Please join us for Eucharistic Adoration at either location. Sitting the presence of the Lord in this way is an incredibly powerful way to pray. Mondays 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. St. Raphael (Beginning August 24) Fridays 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. St. Celestine.

Celestine Vol. Fire Department

Drive-thru dinners will be available on Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Celestine Community Club. The plates include turkey tenders, potato wedges, green beans and slaw. Mock turtle soup will also be available by the gallon. Due to the present social distancing guidelines that are in place for the state of Indiana, the annual tractor pull has been canceled. It is important for the fire department to continue to serve their community while keeping everyone safe. Raffle tickets can be mailed or dropped off at the fire station, or brought to the community club on Sunday any time before the 1 p.m. drawing. The Celestine Vol. Fire Department thanks you for your continued support.

USDA Food Box Distribution

We will be offering dairy boxes for free to anyone on Aug. 27. Distribution starts at approximately 4:30 p.m. at the St. Celestine Campus. Please do not arrive before 3:30 p.m. Enter on the west side by the Celestine Elementary School and proceed under the church carport to the east parking lot. Traffic will be one-way through the parking lot, so follow the signs to the entrance. First-come, first-served. We should have approximately 500 boxes to distribute. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time to help with these distributions.

Canceled Diocese Events

Due to health concerns related to COVID-19, the following fall diocese 2020 events have been canceled: Wisdom Day, Respect for Live Celebration, September UNVEILED Marriage Prep Retreat and Peace in the Mourning Widow retreat.
