Our economy ala Trump and BraunSeptember 11, 2018
To the editor:
Consider the economy from the perspective of Donald J. Trump and Indiana Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Braun:
A massive tax cut benefitting the absolute most wealthy; which
Has created a $1 trillion budget deficit, the highest ever; plus
Indiana farmers’ loss of $2.50/bushel on soybean prices mixed with increases in equipment costs (steel and aluminum) and southern Indiana manufacturers considering moving operations out of country, all because of Trump’s tariffs; and
Braun’s boast that he pays “almost double the minimum wage” which hardly exceeds the poverty level for a family of four; while
Braun has amassed over $60 million on the blood, sweat and tears of his workers; and although
Risk taking and entrepreneurship are to be rewarded, one wonders how many 10s of $$millions does Braun need from the backs of his near poverty-level workers? plus
Braun’s workers have earned him far more than the multiple $$millions he has needed to pay for his campaign; so
To the good and decent Republicans, loyal opposition: Do something — please do something — about your president before the damage is beyond repair. Do not start by electing Mike Braun to the U.S. Senate.
