Otwell-area man charged with drug counts

PETERSBURG — An Otwell-area man was formally charged with multiple drug-related counts last week in Pike County.
Court records indicate the charges filed against Mark J. Hand, 50, 4465 N. Pike County Road 850E, Otwell, stem from the execution of three search warrants by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
Police reported finding methamphetamine, destructive devices, drug paraphernalia, multiple firearms, marijuana and controlled substances during searches July 12 of a camper, a house trailer and the property where Hand resides.
Hand was later charged with Level 5 felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of a destructive device, Level 6 felony maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer and misdemeanor carrying a handgun without a license and possession of marijuana.
