Orange County motorist’s car encounters deer

HAYSVILLE — No injuries were reported when an Orange County motorist’s car collided with a deer Friday evening east of Haysville.

Brooke R. Parker, 20, French Lick, was eastbound on State Road 56 in a 2003 Ford Taurus when the 6:27 p.m. accident occurred east of Count Road 150E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

A deputy said Parker’s car struck a deer that entered onto the highway from the north.

The damage exceeded $1,000 but Parker was able to drive the Ford from the scene, according to the sheriff’s department.
