HUNTINGBURG — Each year the Huntingburg Optimist Club gives three $1,000 scholarships to seniors who graduate from Southridge High School. The scholarship recipients are chosen based on character, service and academic success.
The scholarship recipients from the Southridge High School Class of 2020 are Jack Gasser, Samuel Schroeder and Grace Sickbert.
Gasser, son of Matt and Misty Gasser of Huntingburg, plans to attend the University of Evansville where he will study sports communication.
Schroeder is the son of John and Sarah Schroeder of Huntingburg. He plans to attend Bellarmine University where he will study psychology and also wrestle.
Sickbert plans to attend Purdue University where she will study chemical engineering. She is the daughter of Chad and Billie Sickbert of Huntingburg.
