Old National pays it forward

From Local Sources

JASPER — The Jasper Region associates of Old National Bank recently participated in the company’s annual Pay It Forward campaign. Each year, the company gives each region within the Old National footprint $500. The regions are challenged to see how they can pay it forward in their communities and grow the initial donation of $500. Over the last four years, the Jasper Region has given over $10,000 back to local communities from this annual campaign.

The Jasper Region serves several communities in Dubois and Orange counties. The associates work on selecting a cause that benefits all local communities. Past recipients have included Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, IU Health Paoli, Backpack Buddies, Bulldog Backpacks and local school corporations. This year, the associates chose to donate to the local county sheriff’s departments in support of the K9 units.

Associates in the Jasper Region made donations in exchange for wearing jeans on Fridays during the campaign. Community partners also were invited to make donations. In all, $2,000 was raised for this year’s campaign. The associates were able to make a $1,000 donation to the Dubois County Sheriff and Orange County Sheriff. These donations will be used to help with the costs associated with training, equipment and care of the K9 animals.
